Came here Saturday night for a friend's bday dinner. I have been many times before for brunch & dinner and my sons & their co-workers go after work a few times a week. Overall, it's a good vibe place. There are tvs at the bar for catching games, spacious seating with booths, hi-tops and large party tables. This day happened to be grad day for ODU. They were very busy. I was the 1st of my party of 6 to arrive. I stood in line w/ about 15 others waiting to be greeted & sat. About 15mins went by and I got sat. I probably should've checked to see if they took reservations. Bday girl & other friends show up & I already placed 4 appetizer orders. 3 came out together, the other about 5mins later. The hush puppies & cinnamon butter are perfect! The fried pickles are lengthy slices, not the rounds and are delicious. We ordered our entrees & they came out, mostly together. I had the pork & catfish. The catfish was lightly fried and flaky. It's served w/ a tasty cilantro dill Remoulade, slaw and a side- I chose potato salad. The pork was nicely shredded and a little crispy in spots, which I like. They have sauces to spices it up as much as you'd like. The meal was good and I took a box home for the leftovers! It's a great meet up place with good food & drinks. Check it out!

The ambiance here is great, reminds me of a coastal town in the south (which I guess we are!). We got in on what I assumed was a happy hour but maybe not! Started with a very good $5 orange crush which was so good it was dangerous. We split an order of the hush puppies, then ordered pulled pork and a sampler. The sampler contained smoked wings, andouille sausage, baby back ribs, brisket, pulled pork, Cole slaw, and more hushpuppies! In ranked order: 1. Smoked wings - delicious crisp exterior and honey flavor that permeated all of the meat! 2. Andouille sausage - classic, split and griddled. So good. 3. Ribs - no flavor on them, but texture was perfect. Great vehicle for the three sauces: a Memphis style, Carolina, and a hot sauce 4. Pulled pork - great flavor and texture 5. Brisket. Sadly the brisket is thin cut, a lot of connective tissue that wasn't held at temp long enough to break down to gelatin, resulting in a tougher, chewier texture than one may expect. Altogether, great local barbecue spot with character. Service was friendly and prompt, and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. 6 tvs at the bar let patrons enjoy the current college games, while the bartender entertained other patrons with a friendly and familiar vibe.

The food is amazing here! They appeared a little short staffed, it was a Sunday so I kinda get it. Overall this is somewhere I'd recommend and be back when visiting.the menu is plentiful with so many options to choose from. Everything tastes "homemade" and delicious. The service was a little off as I mentioned they appeared to be short staffed. Even with the short staff our waitress and others were very attentive and responsive to anything needed. We had the chicken tacos, Bang Bang shrimp, rib platter, fried chicken, hush puppies and meat platter all of which were "deelish". The alcoholic beverages were a bit dull, tasty but you aren't going to get any kind of buzz with the "pretty" drinks here. Cheers to the Fishing Pig!

Had a fantastic girls' lunch here! From the hostess to our server and the food, drinks, and ambiance, everything was incredible. I ordered the salmon, and wow, it was absolutely delicious! Paired it with their mac and cheese, plus slaw - every bite was perfect. Our server, Harley, was the most attentive I've encountered. My husband joined us and tried the ribs, which got a big thumbs-up.

We visited for Lanni's birthday and were excited to try this barbecue spot. The restaurant has a spacious layout, including a merch shop. We were seated quickly, and our server was attentive and friendly. I ordered the Grady's Smoke Shack Sampler, which included a quarter rack of ribs, beef brisket, pulled pork, smoked wings, and andouille sausage, along with slaw and hush puppies. As someone following a carnivore diet, I always look for quality meats. We also ordered a Caesar salad, which was well-tossed, and our server asked if we wanted croutons--a nice touch not offered by many places. The smoked wings were a highlight, boasting a fantastic smoky flavor and moist chicken. The pork ribs were delicious and fatty, but the pulled pork was slightly dry. Unfortunately, the brisket didn't meet my expectations; it was gray and lacked flavor compared to other local BBQ joints. A bit of salt helped, but I did take off a star for that. Overall, the experience was great, with paper on the tables for easy cleanup--perfect for BBQ. If we're ever in the area again, we'll definitely return!

This place was bigger than expected. They continued the industrial theme of that area and it looked great inside. Plenty of seating. The hostess didn't greet us at first and we thought it might take a while to get seated but we were in a booth shortly after. We each had the VooDoo juicy IPA and it hit the spot. We ordered the Better Than Bang Bang Shrimp appetizer. It was pretty good. The shrimp was cooked perfectly. We also ordered the Mac skillet with pulled pork and the brisket burger. I would definitely get the Mac skillet again. The pulled pork was tender. The skillet wasn't that cheesy but had good flavors mixed all together. The brisket burger came out differently than we expected. We thought it was slices of brisket but it was ground up into a burger with slaw. I think it would have tasted better with cheese lettuce and tomato. The sweet potato fries and the sweet dipping sauce were delicious. We also enjoyed the house bbq sauces they put out for each table. The bar area would also be a perfect place to watch a game. Next, I would like to try the creole salmon!
